Definition:
Proprioception is your body's ability to sense its own position, movement, and force in space. It lets you walk, touch your nose, or type without looking, working automatically through hidden sensors in your muscles, tendons, and joints
Interoception is the physiological sense that allows the nervous system to detect, interpret, and integrate signals originating from inside the body, such as a racing heart, hunger, pain, or a full bladder. Often called the "eighth sense," it bridges internal physical regulation with emotional awareness and survival
CBT stands for cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a practical, goal-focused type of talk therapy. It teaches you how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. By changing unhelpful thoughts and habits, you can feel better and handle stress more
Hypervigilance is an enhanced state of sensory sensitivity and constant alertness to potential danger. Rooted in a nervous system stuck in "fight-or-flight" mode, it is a primary symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, and chronic stress. People experiencing it constantly scan their environment for threats, leading to exhaustion and disrupted daily life
Psychological and cognitive flexibility are connected mental skills. Cognitive flexibility is the brain's ability to switch tasks and change how we think. Psychological flexibility is a broader trait. It is the ability to stay open to emotions and act based on personal values, even when things get hard
